You add the file to Makefile.am, probably to the gfor_helper_src
variable.  Then you build everything.

Thomas, are you sure one doesn't need --enable-maintainer-mode for the creation of Makefile.in from Makefile.am ? In the standard svn output Makefile.in is present (already generated).
