pault replied in the clf thread that the code worked with gfortran.
To the contrary, I've found that the code leads to segfault.  Can
some others compile the code and run a test.


Hmm, no segfault on x86-64 with -m32, does segfault with -m64.

Time for a PR. Steve do you want to do the honors?
