Now that these functions are in GFC, How can one use them instead of those
that come with the system?

Cygwin uses newlib with gamma functions having common problems with those
of glibc (as discussed http://gcc.gnu.org/ml/fortran/2007-10/msg00201.html
etc.)

Should one build GFC with a special recipe?

Should one build the fortran applications with special options?
