Dominique,
    What hardware are you running on? Under MacOS X 10.4.6
with Xcode 2.2.1 gmp 4.2 passes all of its make check on a G4
with --enable-cxx used for configure. However you will get a
slew of failures on the G5. The fink gmp maintainer has 
confirmed this on his G5 as well.
