gmp 4.2 failures on the G5

I notice the discussions here about requring GMP 4.2 and MPFR 2.2.
Has anyone else noticed that GMP 4.2 fails its testsuite on a G5?
The testsuite passes okay on a G4. If we are going to require GMP 4.2
that ought to be addressed first.
