Could you mention PR 24685 in the ChangeLog?

The testcase is currently xfailed on sparc-solaris. If you have access
to such a thing, can you check whether your patch makes it work on
that platform and in that case remove the xfail?

Unless somebody objects within a few days, it's ok for trunk, and 4.1
a week after that.
