Hm, so that regresses even more.  Weird.  I'd like to have it to
investigate.

> air          21.0s     21.6s      8.2s      8.0s    -   13.0s

It looks like this actually benefitted from the additional SFTs - for
some reason.  Can you send me links to this (air) and the previous
(ac) so I can investigate and maybe improve it further?
