I lost so much time on this today that I am not going to be able to
commit the rest of the big patch to 4.1 for some days. This is
compounded by a strange regression in 4.1 involving testcases failing
for no apparent reason - even with my patch completely removed.
I'm currently also seeing a number of failures, all in testcases containing
'append' in their names.
There were no failures yesterday, see
<http://gcc.gnu.org/ml/gcc-testresults/2005-12/msg01265.html>. The only patch
to libgfortran 4.1 yesterday was
<http://gcc.gnu.org/viewcvs?root=gcc&view=rev&rev=109002>. Jerry, can you
please have a look when the festivities have finished?

This is weird because I tested before I committed with NIST and make
check-fortran. I am doing a clean update, boostrap again, and will retest to
see what happens here. No one is seeing any regressions on 4.2? 4.1 and 4.2
should be in close sync.
Sorry if I messed something up. I will let you know if I figure anything out.
(or not)
