installing gfortran

Hi,
I am completely buffaloed by your website. It is too complex for
mere mortal.s More to the point, I cannot figure out how to download
gfortran onto my Mac G4 laptop, which is running OS X 10.4.3. I am
not a sophisticated developer, just an old professor who learned
Fortran many decades ago, and can't (or won't) learn new languages.
So I need very simple instructions on what do do, step by step.
