Re: svn question - is ~/svn/gcc/trunk for tests?

I think we may have been talking slightly past eachother. First, I didn't
realize that the wiki page doesn't say that the current svn repository is an
experimental playground, and may be tried any way one wants (including the
trunk). Either this info was removed when the page was overhauled, or it was
only ever said in the announcement mail. Second, the experimental repository
will be shutdown because the final, up-to-date repository which will be created
later tonight and tomorrow, will then be put into the place of the experimental
repository.

No, svn is intended to be backwards compatible. Performance in 1.2 should be
better, 1.3 will severely reduce disk usage, from ~900MB to ~640MB (see
<http://gcc.gnu.org/ml/gcc/2005-10/msg00758.html>). I don't know if there are
more powerful commands or whatnot in 1.2 or 1.3, the basic commands are all
there in 1.1 (which is the version I've used before for other stuff).

Cheers,
- Tobi
