On http://www.fortran.com/ you will find down-loadable textbooks, and courses on each revision of Fortran, from f77 on. Note in particular the Chivers and Sleightholme text on f77. In your g77 installation, 'info g77' gives you details on the extensions, including some f95 syntax, supported by g77.
